Kolkata Model’s Towel Dance At India Gate Gets Flak Weeks After ‘Vulgar’ Outfit For Durga Puja
A Kolkata model, who previously faced backlash for wearing a 'cleavage-baring' top, has sparked outrage once again on social media by dancing in front of India Gate in a towel.
One of the three Kolkata models who went viral for ‘vulgar’ outfits at the Durga Puja pandal in October has been facing criticism again, this time for her dance video. The model, Sannati Mitra, who claims to have won the Miss Kolkata title in 2017, shared a video of herself dancing against the backdrop of India Gate in New Delhi. What’s more, she dances in a towel, seemingly baring herself to the crowd at the war memorial. A video of Mitra has since gone viral, with people bashing her left and right for her act, which they believe was done to gain social media fame. Many even tagged Delhi Police, demanding her arrest.
While sharing the video on Instagram, Mitra wrote, “Happy International Men’s Day. May you all continue to inspire and motivate others with your courage, kindness and empathy."

The video shows Mitra dancing in a white towel and slippers to the hit Bollywood song Mere Khwabon Mein from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Her performance appears to be a recreation of Kajol’s iconic dance sequence from the film, where her character dances in a towel in her room.

As she dances to the song sung by legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, onlookers watch in shock. At one point, Mitra twirls and even opens the towel, seemingly baring herself to the crowd at India Gate.

In response to the viral video, an Instagram user wrote, “Where is Delhi police now? She should be behind bars for promoting vulgarity in public places which are considered holy by many. Our martyrs’ names are written on that monument to pay homage and respect for the sacrifice they made for this great nation and she’s clearly disrespecting their sacrifice! This is so wrong! Arrest her right away!"
“This is pathetic. Why does no authority take action against such nonsense? This is not feminism. I’m sorry about this but it’s a vulgarism and I don’t know why it came in my feed," expressed another.
A third posted, “Guys instead of commenting pls stop following these accounts as they are growing because you are wasting your valuable time by following these useless accounts."

“For God’s sake, this is a war memorial lady," joined a fourth.
A fifth commented, “Pathetic. This is a war memorial… You should be arrested for this nudity in front of the memorial!"
