I wondered if Oxford St into Hyde Park one day , for a break.
As soon as I entered the park I heard interesting familiar sounds ,
    getting louder by the minute.
All of a sudden through the trees I could see the biggest stage I'd ever seen ,
on the other side of the Serpentine.
Wow , I'd stumbled into a "free concert" by Mr American Pie.
A great couple of hours entertainment.

    That's one of the best.

Probably the actual best were local , but nasi ally because I had a lot of friends in the business , so I got to a lot the average Joe blogs didn't.

I think if I had to choose one , it would have to be Voodoo Lounge ,
The Rolling Stones at their best.
Such amazing stage and activity etc ,
along with all the best of their work ,
    and incredible energy and vibes.

It was therapist might in NZ , and I was amongst the last to leave.
Seeing the crackdown activity was pretty interesting to.
The whole monster sage , 186 meters from one extreme side to the other , was starting to disappear into 40 foot containers that somehow seemed to just appear.
It was one of two , and on its way to New York..

I really should have titled my thread, Your Best Concerts Ever. I think we all have more than one concert that was memorable to us, I know I do.

For me it wasn’t just the concert or group I seen that made it special or memorable. It was the whole experience that made it special, everything about it was what made it memorable.

I remember my friend and I standing out back behind the Music Hall trying to sneak in to see Three Dog Night. There were other kids that were also trying to sneak in. A Boston police officer was also there, and he started talking to my friend and I. He told us he had two tickets for his daughter and her friend, and told us if she doesn’t show up in such a such time he’d give the tickets to us

The kids would usually chip in and buy a ticket for one of their friends, so they could sneak in to a movie or concert. This kid inside pushed open one of the exit doors and everyone rushed in except my friend and I. Because the police officer was nice to us and was going to give us his daughters tickets if she didn’t show up.

She never showed up and he gave us the tickets. The concert was unbelievable, but how we got in is what made it memorable. It’s something I’ll never forget. Thanks for letting me share that with you all

Well... that opens up a whole different kettle of fish. Back stage is whole different thing. I was working for an independent radio production company in the mid 2000s and had to pick up Buddy Guy and his manager at the airport. On the way to the hotel, Mr. Guy wanted to stop at Dairy Queen, and I'm supposed to be discreet with the talent, but I happened to know a place on the way that was never crowded. I treated the two of them to shakes and footlong hotdogs and spent 45 minutes swapping stories. That was my favorite pick up for the two years I worked for the company. Still my favorite memory too.

When Simon and Garfunkle got back together, I had won tickets to see them. Surprisingly good they were.

There are many other bands that I have been fortunate enough to see/ hear and many I wished I had seen. Simon&Garfunkel I probably would/ or not. Don't get me wrong good music without a doubt. But if RONNIE JAMES DIO and BLACK SABBATH were around Now Your Talking. R.I.P. DIO.

I would not have gone if I hadn't won free tickets. Paul Simon and I play the same guitar. His sounds beautiful. Mine sounds like shit.
I must have gotten a bad Martin.

In the early 70s - probably around 1973, I saw a concert at the Hollywood Palladium that featured c0-top billers Montrose and The Electric Light Orchestra - Montrose went on last, but both bands were awesome!!!

Ronnie Montrose had a Therumin pole attached to his guitar, which was cool, but he only used it for sort of 'wah-wah' effects - not to play melodies. But it was still cool. Rock Candy and Bad Motor Scooter were the standout tunes.

ELO had a very small catalogue to draw from at that point, but a great version of 'Roll Over Beethoven' from their second album brought down the house.

There may have been a 3rd billed band, but apparently, they were forgettable.

There was a lot of racial tension in Boston and rioting around the country. I forget everything exactly. But the mayor of Boston at the time was Mayor White. He asked James Brown if he would let his concert that was at the Boston Garden be aired live on local television to help keep people off the streets. The Godfather of soul was seen live on television that night

yes, he kept Boston from rioting after MLK jr was killed in 1968. I'm sure that's the concert you are referring to.

Might just be. It’s just something I remember him doing. It was a crazy time back then. The guy had style. He had 7 clothing changes during his funeral I believe. That’s wild. I wish I got to see him live

The bastards had choices like Rows A- B -C etc...Great except they were well behind 20 or 30 rows behind. We couldn't see crap. We left near the end, a million cars in the lot! Beer $10 bucks. this was 20years ago more or less.

The Mrs. and I saw the Beach Boys at Red Rocks... same thing, 20,000 people in 10,000 cars with a two lane highway both ways out. They played most of their best stuff before intermission and you climb mountains to get in and out of the amphitheater... we split at half time, heard folks were still trying to get out well after midnight.

Mine is Pink Floyd the Wall concert in LA. It was only performed in New York and LA and I was lucky enough to get two tickets from a friend who's dad was in the business.
Best concert I ever had seen.

Sold out and 25,000 strong, I was there. It was the only time I ever got to see them in concert, and it was worth every penny.

Well I wasn't really a fan, but I was told that since where I was living at the time was the headquarters of their official fan club the concert would probably be amazing. It was, thought the arena was going to burn down, LOL. KISS in Terra Haute in 1977. I also saw a very special Fleetwood Mac concert. Stevie Nicks had strep throat, so just danced and played tambourine while Lindsey Buckingham and Christy McVie sang Stevie's parts. Probably my favorite though was Heart on the grass at Fresno State. Outdoor summer night, relaxed, sitting on the grass getting high. Lots of girls.

Ted Nugent at Forest National in Brussels in 1978. Deaf for two days, but man, what a gig.

Iron Maiden's "Powerslave" tour, at the same venue in 1984 or 85. That stage show!

AC\DC at the Tier Brau Hof in Kontich, Antwerp in October 1977. First and last time I saw Bon Scott alive.

Biggest concert north of the 53rd parallel.
No light show as it was daylight all day till almost 11:00 pm but great sound for a stadium.
Nobody was wearing much. Everyone on the east side got sunburned.
I was living in a bungalow two blocks away at the time. Good times.
