Sinoville CPF hosts mass patrol after spike in crime
The next mass parade will be held on July 15, where the CPF newly designed flag will be hoisted.

The Sinoville sector 1 CPF members hosted a mass patrol recently, to create awareness of the spike in crime in the area.
Chairperson Magriet van der Merwe said CPF members sent 36 cars to join the patrol to promote a united front and a good working relationship with the police.
She said according to the crimes stats shared with the CPF during the patrol show that from June 11 to 20 six motor vehicles were stolen while household and business thefts had also seen an increase.
Van der Merwe said the police crime prevention team organised the patrol well and the participation by CPF members, who braved the cold, exceeded expectations.
Since the alarming rate of motor theft in the area and neighbouring areas occurred day and night, the CPF provided the following safety tips to residents:
– Take pictures of your vehicle for description purposes.
– Know exactly where you keep registration information, send a copy to a family member or friend.
– Keep contact details of your tracking company handy. Know the alert procedure.
– Avoid parking on the side of the street when visiting friends or family, if you have to park outside keep an eye on your vehicle.
– Know your shopping centre car attendants and security.
– Watch out for your neighbours and report suspicious vehicles and activity.
– Never leave a child unattended in a vehicle – even if it is just for two minutes.
– Never leave valuables in the vehicle. Take house keys and gate remotes, handbags and laptops with you.
– Never assume that all four doors and boot are locked, always check.
The next mass parade will be held on July 15, where the CPF newly designed flag will be hoisted.
Residents are invited to join the parade, more details will follow closer to the time.
